Josh Hamrick is originally from Shelby, North Carolina. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at UNC-CH, Josh worked with many groups on campus, including Company Carolina, The Lab!, and PlayMakers Repertory Company. Josh interned with the Walt Disney World Company College Program. After College, Joshua moved to High Point, NC and worked for the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival. After one season in High Point, Josh moved to Knoxville, Tennessee, and became the Master Electrician of the Clarence Brown Theatre Company. Joshua worked at the Clarence Brown Theatre for over 6 years and then moved to Atlanta, GA to work for Television Production Service, a company that specializes in lighting design for Architectural applications. Josh is a Lighting System Designer and Project Manager for TPS, as well as a Field Service Technician. Josh's many theatrical designs include everything from Opera to Modern Dance. In 2003, Josh was the Grand Prize winner of the RollerCoaster Tycoon Ultimate Roller Coaster Design Contest by Infogrames and Atari. He won a Knoxville Area Theatre Coalition (KATC) award for his design of Oklahoma! at the CBT. Memorable designs include dha-fuzion, NYC (at P.S.122), Always...Patsy Cline, A Chorus Line, the world regional premier of Disney's Beauty and the Beast at the Cumberland County Playhouse, the first Southern Regional Theatre production of Cats, and many others.
